    It is difficult to assess the full value of his estate from the will, but based just on the sums of money mentioned he probably left at least 8000 (worth at least 800,000 today) plus considerable property. So his total estate was now likely to be worth more than 1 million.
    One stipulation was that in the event of his son William dying before the age of 21 the estates were to be sold IMMEDIATELY after the death. Probate took several years (at least 6) to finalise.
