    Captain of The Hodbarrow Miner he was knocked off the ship by a boom during a storm and was presumed drowned. The remaining hands allowed the ship to be carried by the storm, back along the north coast of Cornwall. When they reached Mawgan Porth 2 days later they ran it aground and all but one of the crew were drowned.
